Ballet classes at Inspire Dance and Tumble provide dancers with a solid base from which to grow in an informed, technical environment. We focus on understanding how dance shapes and forms the body. And, how it releases tension. This allows dancers to move efficiently.

Ballet classes at Inspire Dance and Tumble provide dancers with a solid base from which to grow in an informed, technical environment. We focus on understanding how dance shapes and forms the body. And, how it releases tension. This allows dancers to move efficiently.
Our instructors draw from the Vagonova, Ceccetti, and French traditions, as well as knowledge gained from years of study in the American dance world where these traditions are blended to produce dancers who are unaffected by a particular style.
Ballet students will have the opportunity to participate in our Holiday performance of "The Nutcracker" either by default or audition depending on age and class level. Costumes may be rented from the studio for a fee for this performance. Costumes for our Spring Recital must be purchased.
Jazz combines many styles and techniques from ethnic and contemporary dance, to ballet and musical theatre. Rhythm, upon which all dance forms depend, is particularly integral to jazz dance. The first half of class consists of exercises which stretch and tone muscles and develop support for proper stress-free alignment of the skeletal structure.
Using jazz, soul, R&B, ethnic and pop music, and sometimes even musicals, jazz classes are a great work-out and a fun way to release tension while attaining a body awareness that can be applied to everyday activities. Adding a Ballet class is strongly recommended.

Although in it's most authentic form, a freestyle or improvisational style of dance, we have fun putting the movement into choreography to be performed at our recitals along with the other styles of dance we offer.

Rooted in African-American History, tap offers a variety of styles and techniques drawing from Ballet and Jazz foundations. Tumbling is a form of gymnastics performed without any specialized equipment. Skills like cartwheels, handstands, walkovers, handsprings, and tucks are executed on the floor using tumbling mats for added cushion. Tumbling is seen in gymnastics, in elements such as the floor routines in the Olympics, but tumbling does not feature the same

Cheerleading is a sport that requires experience in tumbling, as many of the routines involve backflips and other floor tricks. Tumbling can be seen incorporated into just about any style of dance for a major WOW factor. Even if it doesn't seem like tumbling will be your child's "thing", the benefits of core and upper body strength building plus added practice in balance and coordination are worthwhile in many aspects of all sports and even everyday life. Tumblers will not participate in our recitals but will have their very own showcase at the end of our season in May.
Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening program that has been designed to enhance students' technique by focusing on training the muscle memory required in each exercise in all forms of dance. It is a unique training system using ballet-technique specific exercises to train skill acquisition
Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening program that has been designed to enhance students' technique by focusing on training the muscle memory required in each exercise in all forms of dance. It is a unique training system using ballet-technique specific exercises to train skill acquisition in a progressive manner from junior through to advanced levels. PBT helps teachers around the world prepare their students to receive the strength they need to achieve their personal best.
The program helps with injury prevention and rehabilitation and enhances the ability of athletes to perform at their best. It can be difficult for students to feel which muscles initiate the correct alignment in training. However, with the use of an exercise ball, the students gain a great sense of posture and weight-placement whilst feeling each correct muscle group working throughout each exercise, which then stays with them when whilst performing in dance or their chosen field of sport.
PBT focuses on core strength, weight placement and alignment of the body with a gradual approach of carefully designed exercises and repetitions of these exercises that trigger their muscle memory.
PBT is not only a program to improve technique in ballet dancers, it is now being appreciated and incorporated in training by all forms of dancers, athletes, physiotherapists and even footballers!
